Galaxy 14 - Tides 5
On the same night as the Midsummer Classic for the Big Leagues, this was anything but. Two teams who have struggled as late, one more than the other, went to war on a the newly improved Nahant Softball Field. New clay was put down near second base, down the third base line, and finally, righties can now stand level in the batter's box. The weather was a bit wierd and there hasn't been that much fog since Adrian Brody and Jack Black went to Skull Island to find King Kong. Ricky Moleti took the hill down one PJ, who quit due to problems with management. It was all Galaxy, all night in this one, not suprisingly, who won handily. Joel Sanphy looked to get his first win since being called up from the Jesmond Nursing Home League, but remains winless. Marty "the Mule" Muser did all he could, getting peppered out in left field, and even kicked a ball under the fence, a brilliant veteran move, holding runners at second and third, on what looked to be a sure home-run after he floundered on the turf. It was clear that there are some major management problems on this Tides team, and some good talent is being wasted on a small market ballclub. Rumors persist as to the firing of Tide's manager Tommy King who can't seem put the pieces together.
