Brickyard 16-Tides 9
A game that saw the new-look Tides suprisingly jump out to an early 7-3 lead only to squander it as the game progressed. Tides was without their starter, Big Scott McCarthy, and the newly aquired Anthony "the lizard" Alessi got the call to start. After letting up three runs McCarthy emerged from the bullrushes and relieved the young righty. McCarthy settled in nicely and carried a good lead into the fifth. Just as the Tide's bats went cold the Brickyard's bats came alive, and together with consecutive walks and some timely hitting jumped on top 8-7. It was all Brickyard after that and with some help from some nifty plays from their shortstop silenced the upstart Tides team. The Brickyard now sees itself in a three-way tie for the division lead at 2-0 coming into next Wednesday's matchup with the Greensox.
