Barbarians 12 - KG Sox 11

In an entertaining game the Barbarians squeeked out a win versus the Kelly Green Sox. The weather was rather balmy and both teams came out a little flat. Bobby "Serip" Serino came off the DL and notched a win for the Barbarians and looked sharp. The KG Sox came up in the top of the first and looked to get on top early. The Sox scored three runs and had two on with nobody out. Serino worked out of the jam and stopped the bleeding at 3. The Barbarians, not to be outdone rode their young bats for three straight scoring innings, running the score to 9-3 after three. Pat O'Leary, on the hill for the Sox, settled in after the first three and started to pitch well, keeping the Sox in the game. Down 10-3 through four the Sox were demoralized and visibly shaken after the Barbarians put on a base-hit clinic. In the fifth inning, the tide began to change, and the KG Sox started to mash. The Sox went off for seven runs in the top of the fifth, tying the game. After a scorless sixth the Greensox looked to build a lead. The Sox got the first two runners on, followed by a pop-out to right. Mikey "OB" O'Brien back off the DL himself came up in a big spot. O'Brien smoked a liner right back to Serino, who quickly fired to first doubling off Ian Croal who was in no man's land. Suddenly the momentum was back in the Barbarians hands. Carlo "Capa" Capanigro led of the bottom of the seventh with a single setting the stage for RJ Garner. Garner dug in and took the first pitch he saw deep into the gap and onto the women's(?) field for a walk-off two-run home-run.

Also of Note: Zach Taylor retrieved the cut-off on the walk-off and hurled the ball towards home plate. The Barbarians had already started celebrating as the ball wizzed by. Luckily nobody was hit or injured on the play. Taylor recieves the douchebag play of the year award. In a press conference after the game Taylor publicly apologized for the mistake.
