Couple Bats, No Bats, Chili

Barbarians 14 - Galaxy 8

The Barbarians, without their fearless leader, and without their bats for half the game, pulled out a win in a great game. The Galaxy team provided the Barbarians with a vintage 1980 Louisville TPX Cal Ripken Model, which was compared to 1/2 inch copper piping. The game was close through three, as the Barbarians couldn't figure out how to use the tin pipe they were given. Dave Johnson was on the hill and pitched a real gem, leading his short-handed team to a win. Galaxy really couldn't get any offense going, aside from a Barry Paskevich 3-run bomb to left, that cleared 10 square feet of bull-rush. The Barbarians got a great game out of Matt "Meet-the-Press" Pressman who made a couple of web-jem esque plays at short, one where he threw a guy out from his ass, and also had a solo home-run. Galaxy got bit by an injury bug, or maybe it was the heat, a few of there players looked hobbled through three. These two teams see themselves tied for third at 5-3, the Barbarians head into the All-Star Break on a high note, the Galaxy have a tough matchup against the Brickyard this Monday.
Also of Note: Craig Strasnick notched his first home-run of the year, a four base error. A ground ball that went by Rick Madden, and eventually to Dan Fiore in short-field. Fiore walked the ball towards the infield and fired it over Rick Moleti's head and into the stands. Two-bases and a home-run was awarded to Strasnick, for an over-throw from the outfield.
