NFL 16 - Galaxy 10 (through 6)
When it rains it pours, and on Wednesday night, NFL "made it rain", on Moleti and the rest of his shorthanded Galaxy mates. NFL came out swinging and torched Moleti for six runs in the top of the first, and never looked back. Galaxy made an effort in every inning, including the bottom of the first, where a Christian Howard laser beam line drive bounced on the center line of Nahant Road, for a three-run home-run, to bring Galaxy within three. This was as close as they would get. NFL scored runs in each of the next five innings and got some good hitting from Bobby Brown, and Jim Osborne, their slick fielding short-stop. Without any short-fielders Galaxy didn't stand a chance and frustration set in early and often. Jim "The Other Moleti" Moleti grabbed a much needed psychological win over his uncle and will likely rememeber the win if they clash again in the final. Using their team speed and stringing together countless base hits, NFL cruised to a victory that was cut short by a super-cell storm that packed hurricane forced wins. Empty cases of bear were swirling around the field and into the street, following the fleeing fans and players. The rains came to an abrupt end, just in time for post-game tailgating festivities. A brilliant rainbow appeared connecting the field with another popular stomping ground for players and fans alike, Short Beach.
Also of Note: The press will be off for the next two games in preparation for the playoff media blitz. Top members of the media were invited to The Kelly Greensox ace Patrick O'Leary's wedding, who will be tying the knot with the beautiful Jennifer Diamont from Marblehead.
