Friday Night Lights

Kelly Greensox 19-Tides 3

Another dominant pitching game by Pat O'Leary who didn't let up an earned run. In the top of the first the Tides jumped out to a 3-0 lead on some errors by the Sox short fielders. Bart Bennet, after taking a one-hopper off the shin, picked up the ball and fired it over the entire infield, giving Tides a couple freebies, and more importantly, hope. Its a bird, its a plane, no, its Joel Sanphy. Trying desperately to find a pitcher the Tides called up Joel Sanphy from the Jesmond Nursing Home Slowpitch League. Unable to find the plate or his composure, Sanphy went on to let up 19 runs, including a 300 foot solo shot by Johnny "Thong" Lacorte who continues to rake. Ian Croall called a great game behind the plate and continues to build comrodery with O'Leary. Joe Glowacki could not participate in the game after falling from a sea wall on Thursday night.(true story) Attendance was suprisingly low for a Friday night due to some inclement weather but as always there was a couple of great peices of ass in the "box" seats. Also of Note: Matt "Bad-Hattatude" Hatfield magically turned an 0-3 day at the plate into 5 RBI, truly amazing. Also, Barbarians vs. NFL 1 O'Clock, Saturday
