Battle of the Bars

May 31, 2007

Kelley Greensox 8-Brickyard 6
Game of the year would be an understatement. In front of a sellout crowd, which included some fantastic talent, the Greensox pulled off an incredible win and looked like they are starting to come together as a team. The Sox jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after one, on some timely hitting. Brickyard answered back with a pair in the third and tacked on 2 more in the fourth on a Adolph "A-Train" Gracile homerun to deep right center. The defense by the Greensox was outstanding and the infield did a great job. Pat O'Leary was back to his dominant self after getting shalacked in his previous game inducing ground ball outs all game long. The Brickyard would not go away easy and tied the game at 6 heading in to the top of the seventh. Johnny "Thong" Lacorte came up in the top of the seventh with one on and two out and sealed yet another game for the Sox with a blast that found the gap in left-center for an inside the park home-run.
