I hard fought game on Monday night between NFL and the new-look Tides. Tides featured a group comprised of former players from Popo's, the three-time defending champions, COD, the former Tides, and a few rookies. Team NFL looked to get off the shnide with a win, and Tides looked to make a name for themselves. The story of this game was the trademark pitching of Scotty McCarthy of Tides. Featuring his high-arc style he baffled the NFL hitters for the first part of the game. One big inning was what cost NFL this ballgame, a seven run third, that included some errors and some timely hitting by Tides. NFL mounted a comeback in the latter stages of the game that ended abrubtly on a controversial call at second base that sealed their fate, and a win for Tides.
