NFL 6 - Knights 5

On Monday night NFL won a nail-biter 6-5. NFL continues to improve this year, claiming win number 6, eclipsing their last season mark of 2 wins. NFL got some good pitching from Jim Moleti who was backed by some good defense. Leo Barletta went yard for the first time this year to help preserve the big win. Knights continue to struggle down the stretch and will have a difficult road to the finals this year.

Brickyard 16 - KG Sox 10

Tuesday's matchup featured two bitter rivals, the KG Sox and Brickyard. The Kelly Green Sox came out flat again and found themselves down 14-0 after two innings of play. The Brickyard hit the ball extremely well as a unit and scored seven runs in each of the first two innings. Adolph "A-Train" Gracile hit another bomb, a deep fly to left field to help build the big lead. Pat O'Leary settled in after two tough innings and allowed the Greensox to creep back into this game. The Brickyard was without their ace, Tony "Goose" Ragusa, and went with John Peterson on the hill. Although he struggled with his control, he got the job done for the Brickyard who clinched a top three seed with the win. Down the stretch the Greensox outhit the Brickyard and got within four on homeruns by Dan O'Connor, Zach Taylor, and Colin Carpenter. Zach Taylor continued a torrid pace at the plate, but had a dreadful game in the field, his second straight, with five errors, including two on one play. The defense wasn't there for the Sox, who continue to struggle against the upper echilon of teams in the league.

Matt "Bad Hattatude" Hatfield made perhaps the catch of the year on a leaping stab-and-roll, but continues to struggle at the plate and is 0 for his last 6 at-bats. The two teams were seperated by only four runs in the bottom of the sixth with Brickyard set to bat. The Sox were put to bed in the inning, helped by a jack by John Ragusa, a controversial mid-season pickup, to deep right-center.

Also of Note: The sell-out crowds continue for the Greensox who have now broken the single-season attendance record.

And: A rule book is in the works and will hopefully be complete by the start of the playoffs.
