The One-Pitch was like a Carnival, but the attendees were the carni-folk. In typical Nahant fashion there were plenty of extra curicular activities to go along with the softball itself. Matt Hatfield almost beat up the salty sixty-two year old pitcher for the over-the-hill all-star team, Joe Glowacki sawed off his crusty dreadlocks in front of a large crowd, and Tommy "TK" King beat Mike "not-as cool-as-Jim" Deveraeux in a fifty yard dash. On Sunday Tudor "Fox" Beach held the first annual "Day after Earl" Volleyball Tournament. The volleyball net was suspended on one side by the poles on the Tudor wall itself and by a piece of Bamboo. In the final, a team comprised of Clinton Alessi, Zach Taylor, and a man known only as "Pudge", beat the favorites, Jim Moleti, Jimmy Osborne, and Mr. overated himself, Pat O'Leary Two games to none.
